Analysis of Soliton Interaction in Optical Fiber Communication

Abstract. If we transmit more than a single pulse at a time inside the optical fiber then we have to maintain the minimum separation (6 ps) between the consecutive pulses. Interactions of solitons are studied using the modified nonlinear Schrödinger equation, which models nonlinear optical pulses in a single mode fiber. The main objective of this paper is to show the minimum separation of 6ps must require between two soliton pulses to increase the information carrying capacity of the fiber.

Comparative Acaricidal Efficacy of Sulfur and Nano Sulfur against Tetranychus urticae

Abstract. The two-spotted spider mite, Tetranychus urticae is one of the most important agricultural pests which can attack about 1200 species of plants of which more than 150 are economically important. The pest has the ability to rapidly develop resistant to many important acaricides and this is one of the major obstacles for control of this pest. Nanotechnology is the field of engineering functional systems at the molecular scale and is burgeoning day by day making an impact in all dimensions of human life. In this study we used concentrations of 0.25, 0.75, 1.25, 2.5, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000, 2000, 3000 and 4000 ppm of sulfur nano particles and for each treatment we had 5 replicates in bioassay test we used concentrations of 0.25, 0.75, 1.25, 2.5, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000, 2000, 3000 and 4000 ppm of sulfur nano particles and for each treatment we had 5 replicates in bioassay tests and 10 replicates in greenhouse tests. By using Leaf spray method it had been determined that some concentrations have meaningful effects on spider mites. Finally the data were compared using Completely Randomized Design (CRD).

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing Schemes for Cognitive Radio Access

Abstract. Cognitive Radios (CR's) with the ability to learn and adapt to their environment provide a paradigm shift in the way spectra is regulated and used. But CR's requires a transmission technique which complements its unique physical layer design. Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) with its inherent spectral efficiency and flexibility is a natural approach to CR. But conventional OFDM technique is not acceptable and there is a need to develop an OFDM scheme that combines link adaptation techniques, this paper first investigates using of channel adaptive features in OFDM systems implementation of adaptive OFDM and multiple antennas showed a substantial increase in throughput and error robustness. But the performance of these systems showed a considerable variation in different frequency selective channels. Subsequently the paper investigated coded OFDM systems as a possible transmission scheme for CR's. Finally the performance of a low complexity Coded Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) OFDM system is evaluated.

Preparation and Characterization of Composite Embedded Clinoptilolite for the Removal of Color and Lead from Textile Waste Water

Abstract. A new composite adsorbent synthesized from coconut shell activated carbon (CSAC) and clinoptilolite (Cl) for the removal of color and heavy metals from real textile waste water was investigated. OPC as the binder agent held the advantages of CSAC and CL which improved the adsorption capacities of color and lead (Pb). The prepared composite adsorbent with interfacial pores show better mass transfer activity proven by its mechanical properties and stability. The surface area of the CSAC/Cl composite adsorbent was observed at 39.32 m2/g having pore diameter of 3.38 nm which in the mesoporous class. The equilibrium data was best fitted to Langmuir. Meanwhile, the kinetics model of pseudo-second-order was favorable with high correlation coefficient more than 0.98 for both color and Pb adsorption. The characterization of the CSAC/Cl composite adsorbent indicates that the presence of SiO2 (clinoptilolite) in the mixtures influenced the adsorption properties and chemical functional group whereas OPC played a significant role in strength development of the adsorbent. The abstract should be informative and completely self-explanatory, briefly present the topic, state the scope of the experiments, indicate significant data, and point out major findings and conclusions.
